There's some more photo's of our water skiing exploits last Sunday (30th November, 2003). Peter and Ben Shepherd came with us and a good time was had by all. Here's the direct link. After dragging 5 water ski's, a knee board and the biscuit up the river, only one ski the knee board and the biscuit were used. (Can you get box trailers for boats?)
We finally managed to co-ordinate the weather, the boat, the crew (any crew, they'll do!) and work, and finally managed to get out on the water! Yee har!! Here's the new album I added today for all the visual highlights :)
I've removed the "Games" topic coz there was nothing in it and I don't really play any games (Nethack is a way of life - not a game). The sceond thing is the addition of a personal Web Log (blog) for myself here.
My Web Log is where I'll be putting my personal thoughts and reflections. This way the front page (this one) can be kept free for more generic news and stuff.
Apologies to anyone who tried to access this site over the weekend (Oct 24-26). Some server updates went bad and I didn't get it sorted until Sunday (Oct 26).
Ah yes! Finally Austrlia has been liberated from the shackles of Senator Alston! No more will we have to deal with a totally clueless luser in charge of IT&T policy in our counrty. Maybe now telecos, ISP's, broadcasters and other technologies will get the breathing space they need to really push along! Maybe now we can get a reversal of the digital TV debarcle, maybe now we can see widespread adoption of true broad-band technologies...or maybe not.Hold your breath folks - we don't know who is replacing Alston yet!!

Moved site to a new server! I finally took pity on my poor Pentium 166 and moved the website to a new server. It's now running on my workstation (Athlon 1GHz, 512MB RAM and SCSI hard drives). So you should notice that pages generate about 500-800% faster :-)

As some people know (most don't) our boat trailer had hissy-fit and threw it's left rear suspension assembly all over the road. Thankfully we were only backing up the driveway at the time. Photo's of the fix-it day are here. Click "Read More" for all the info about the whole saga.
