Go, go, go...... STOP!!!

James' WeblogA routine weekly visit to our obstetrician today went awry and now Nat's in hospital, I'm at home, and we're back to waiting again.

It's the end of the world as we know it... (Queue R.E.M.)

James' WeblogAbout 7 weeks from now (barring any complications) I'll be a real dad; not a "dad in waiting" like now. There will be a little-Nat running around (let's hope it's not a little-James OK!?!) and life will be very different, so I'm told. Not too sure how that's going work out exactly.....

Friends + Skiing = FUN!

James' WeblogWe've been out skiing again and had a ball. The weather was perfect and the company even better.

We actually travelled down to Chris and Nic's place on Saturday night with our boat in tow. I was very impressed with our new car's performance with the boat on - it was a pleasure to tow. I guess that's the difference between a 2.2L Camry and 4.0L BA Falcon! Gotta love that 380nm of torque :-)

We spent Saturday afternoon catching up and tinkering around with our boat. For the evening we decided to run up to the local club and indulge ourselves with some Chinese cuisine. The waitress seemed incapable of figuring out that we were table "29", despite the fact we were sandwiched between 28 and 30.....but maybe we were expecting too much? After dinner we decided to feed the poker machines. I just can't understand the attraction with these things; you feed them some money, they blink and beep and buzz, then nadda. I just don't geddit. Anyway, we had our own fun and made fun of the machines and the stupidity of some of the stuff that flashes up etc. I think the local pokie addicts weren't impressed when we "won" $0.25 off a $0.50 bet and cheered saying we should retire. Heheh.

Sunday we got started early and were on the water by about 7:30am. We had both my boat and Chris' for a change and it worked out well. The extra boat meant we could set one boat up for skiing (usually Chris') and the other with the biscuits etc.

Chris' cousin Darren and, a friend of Darren's, Wayne showed up and we were off. The water was glass, the sky slightly overcast and the temperature warm. We all went hard early and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Nic made some serious inroads with her knee boarding and even pulled off some jumps and a 180! way t o go Nic!! Nat, being about 20 weeks pregnant, spent the day relaxing on the beach. She felt a little left out but said she had a relaxing day just the same.

Around lunch time one of Chris and Nic's friends arrived with lunch :) Onya Dave!! Dave brought his two wonderful girls, Tiffany and Chloe, who were very keen to spend as much time on the biscuits as possible. They had a great time and it showed.

Dave and Wayne both had fun with skis and knee boards. Dave, especially, went hard and we managed to get a snapshot of the biggest off for the day. Thanks Dave - it's a great shot and you're a great sport for getting straight back into :) Go hard or go home indeed.

Given the quality of the weather we didn't think to break out the camera until after lunch. Still we got some good shots. You can see them here. Enjoy :)
